RE: Clarification #7 for Measurement Year (MY) 2023 Updates

Dear Colleague,

This letter contains information about edits incorporated into the 2023 Quality Assurance Reporting Requirements (QARR) Technical Specifications, specifically the Patient Level Detail (PLD) for Measurement Year (MY) 2023 reporting. The updated files are posted on our Managed Care Information for Health Plans page. The revised specifications should be used in the plans' processing for MY2023 QARR.

This clarification includes the following changes made to the MY2023 QARR reporting requirements.

			Medicaid PLD: Source of Race Data field: valid values have been updated to align with NCQA/HEDIS specifications. 28 = Unknown - Use this as the race source value when the member's race is "UNK" for Unknown Race. 30 = Other (Indirect) - Use when "other" indirect method is used to determine Race. Source of Ethnicity Data field: valid values have been updated to align with NCQA/HEDIS specifications. 28 = Unknown - Use this as the race source value when the member's race is "UNK" for Unknown Ethnicity. 30 = Other (Indirect) - Use when "other" indirect method is used to determine Ethnicity.
			Exchange PLD: Source of Race Data field: valid values have been updated to align with NCQA/HEDIS specifications. 28 = Unknown - Use this as the race source value when the member's race is "UNK" for Unknown Race. 30 = Other (Indirect) - Use when "other" indirect method is used to determine Race. Source of Ethnicity Data field: valid values have been updated to align with NCQA/HEDIS specifications. 28 = Unknown - Use this as the race source value when the member's race is "UNK" for Unknown Ethnicity. 30 = Other (Indirect) - Use when "other" indirect method is used to determine Ethnicity.
