Conclusion:
Provider unsuccessfully appealed the Independent Assessor´s findings relative to Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Milestone 1.

Independent Assessor initially failed the PPS Provider for Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Milestone 1 which required the PPS to submit a Cultural Competency and Health Literacy Strategy approved by the PPS board. The PPS failed to submit evidence of board approval during the initial Quarterly Report submission and during remediation.

Upon appeal, the PPS presented narratives explaining that various groups including a workgroup, task force, and sub-committee reviewed and approved the strategy. The PPS failed to submit evidence that the PPS reviewed and approved the strategy and as a result the IA upheld its initial determination.
