Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of more than 300,000 volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. MRC volunteers step up to keep their family, friends and neighbors safe and healthy.

In New York, there are 32 MRCs that cover a geographical area of 40 counties and the 5 boroughs of New York City. Between these 32 units, there are over 21,500 healthcare and non-healthcare volunteers. Click here to see if there is an MRC near you.

How to Join an MRC

To join an MRC, it is recommended you first register in ServNY. If you choose to volunteer in a county that has an established MRC, the MRC Unit Leader will reach out to you to gauge your interest in becoming an MRC member once you have completed the ServNY registration process. You may also email the MRC unit you are interested in joining. Unit emails can be found at Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Unit Locations (arcgis.com). Once you zoom into NYS, a list of MRC units will be listed on the right-hand side of the screen. Simply click on the unit you are interested in joining, and a box will appear with the MRC Unit Information, to include an email and point of contact.
