NYC Health Department’s Brain Health Program
Overview
Our Building Our Largest Dementia (BOLD) infrastructure program is a CDC-funded initiative that addresses brain health for all New Yorkers. The program seeks to educate the public about dementia risk reduction, increase the health status and quality of life of NYC residents affected by dementia, and improve the lives of their caregivers.
NYC BOLD Framework
The program sits within the Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness within the NYC Health Department. It is comprised of programmatic staff and a coalition, made up of internal and external partners, driven by its mission and vision below. The program is informed by the CDC’s Healthy Brain Initiative State and Local Public Health Partnerships to Address Dementia: 2023 – 2027 Road Map.
