Healthy Fishing Communities: Biomonitoring of Great Lakes Populations Project

Great Lakes biomonitoring logo

These projects aimed to measure the amount of chemicals and metals in people who ate fish caught from the Great Lakes. We recruited anglers who fished and ate their catch from Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and certain New York rivers and waterways.

The Biomonitoring of Great Lakes Populations Program was funded by the Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry (ATSDR).
