Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant
United States Disease Prevention Program:
Flexible Funding for New York State's Public Health Programs
The Preventive Health and Health Services (PHHS) Block Grant allows the State of New York to use dollars where we need them and when we need them to protect the public's health.
New York's PHHS grant provides funding for prevention programs that have:
- a demonstrated need;
- that is appropriate to Healthy People 2020 objectives; and
- is also appropriate to Department of Health Prevention Agenda objectives.
PHHS dollars are distributed to communities through a variety of programs, which are available on the Department's Grants/Funding Opportunities page.
For more information on the federal Preventive Health and Health Services program, visit the CDC's website.
