#20531 - High Impact Prevention within Communities of Color
Pursuant to New York State Finance Law §163.10(b), the New York State Department of (DOH) is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible.
The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute intends to extend thirty-eight (38) existing contracts under the High Impact Prevention within Communities of Color initiative to prevent a gap in services until the new competitive procurement is completed.
The existing contracts to be extended support Comprehensive HIV/STD/HCV Prevention and Related Services for Priority Populations impacted by HIV/STD/HCV within Communities of Color. The funded contractors develop and/or enhance comprehensive HIV/STD/HCV programs through the implementation of high impact prevention strategies and innovative interventions for HIV positive and HIV negative individuals in specific high prevalence neighborhoods/regions within communities of color. There are six (6) components within this program.
The extensions will prevent a gap in services until the new competitive procurement is completed. New contracts are expected to begin 12/1/24.
