CRER #20736 Clinical Education Initiative

Pursuant to New York State Finance Law § 163.10(b), The New York State Department of Health is presenting the following summary of relevant circumstances, and material and substantial reasons why a competitive procurement was not feasible. The New York State Department of Health Clinical Education Initiative Program has made a determination to issue a Single Source Procurement to four eligible grantees to support ongoing currently funded projects.

AIDS Institute intends to extend four (4) contracts in the Clinical Education Initiative (CEI) for four (4) months to prevent a gap in services while the next competitive procurement is completed. The procurement has been delayed due to unique circumstances.

The Initiative offers progressive continuing medical education to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, and pharmacists to enhance their capacity to deliver high-quality healthcare services and to improve patient health outcomes. The initiative offers free Clinical Education (CE) accredited online and in-person trainings, conferences, intensive preceptorships, clinical technical assistance and tools on HIV Primary Care and Prevention, Sexual Health, Hepatitis C treatment and Drug User Health.

Due to the specific circumstances of this procurement and the unique qualifications of the selected firm/entity, a competitive procurement was not feasible in this instance.
