Media Advisory: EMS Memorial Dedication Ceremony Will Honor EMS Professionals Who Lost Their Lives in the Line of Duty
Event: Annual EMS Memorial Dedication Ceremony
What: State officials, legislators and members of the public will join Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals, their families and friends to honor all EMS providers who have fallen while in the line of duty.

Time: 11 a.m.
Where: Empire State Plaza
100 S Mall Arterial, Albany, NY 12242 (between the Capitol and The Egg)
Who: New York State Department of Health Executive Deputy Commissioner Johanne Morne will deliver remarks. Executive Deputy Commissioner Morne and David Violante, Chair of the New York State EMS Council will lay the Memorial Wreath in honor of the EMS members who lost their lives. State officials, legislators, EMS professional and their families and friends and members of the public will also be in attendance.
Details: The ceremony will honor the bravery of five heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2024. The memorial, named The Tree of Life, has honored 125 line of duty deaths since its dedication in May 2004.
The ceremony will feature a presentation of colors by the New York City Fire Department Color Guard and the New York City Fire Department Medical Services Pipes & Drum Band.
