Media Advisory: New York State Department of Health Announces Ending the Epidemic Summit and World Aids Day Events

Event: Media Availability – Interview and photo/video opportunity.

What: The 10th annual Ending the Epidemic Summit and 27th World AIDS Day Events.

Date: The Ending the Epidemic Summit is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 – 10. World AIDS Day events are scheduled for Wednesday, December 10.

Details: State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald will deliver opening remarks on December 9. He will deliver the keynote address on December 10, followed by the World AIDS Day Commissioner's Special Recognition Awards Ceremony.

*Panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display both days.

About: The annual Ending the Epidemic Summit and World AIDS Day events are hosted by the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute. The events bring together hundreds of stakeholders from across New York State to share successes, discuss innovative programs and explore strategies in the mission to end HIV/AIDS. Events follow the annual global observance of World AIDS Day held each year on December 1.
