NYSDOH Approved Accrediting Agencies

The Commissioner of Health has designated the following accrediting agencies for purposes of OBS practice accreditation. OBS practices, if not already accredited by one of these three agencies, may choose to apply to any one of these agencies for accreditation. OBS practices may want to research the application process, accreditation standards, costs, etc. before determining to which agency they will submit an application. OBS practices must be accredited as of July 14, 2009. Since the process may take many months, OBS practices should make applications in a timely manner.

Physicians are encouraged to check the accrediting bodies' web sites for information about training sessions relevant to the application process for becoming an accredited OBS practice.
