Who can apply for reimbursement?
Living donor applicants who are residents of New York State who are donating to an ultimate recipient who is a resident of New York State.
What kind of expenses can I get reimbursed for?
The Living Donor Support Program offers reimbursement consideration on expenses directly associated with the living donation process. Expenses may include travel, lost wages or cost of lost time, dependent care, and certain medical expenses not covered by insurance.
How do I ask for reimbursement?
Send us your completed reimbursement form(s) along with copies of receipts via SendVault.

When do I ask for Reimbursement?
The Living Donor Support Program requires that requests for reimbursement are made within 90 days of the expenses being incurred, unless special circumstances exist.
Can I submit for reimbursement multiple times?
Yes, living donors may choose how often and when they want to submit for reimbursement as long as they submit within 90 days of the expenses being incurred. It is recommended that living donors submit all expenses incurred per trip.
Can I submit for partial payment reimbursement?
Yes, the program requires that living donors utilize third party payors before seeking reimbursement from the Living Donor Support Program. There may be cases when a third-party payor only pays a portion of expenses, such as short-term disability. In this case, the Living Donor Support Program may be able to reimburse additional funds to cover lost wages or other expenses not fully covered.
Who needs to fill out and submit the reimbursement application?
It is the responsibility of the living donor to complete and sign the reimbursement application. If for some reason the living donor is unable to complete and sign, we ask that the Living Donor Support Program is reached via phone or email before proceeding.
