New York State’s Family Support Programs for Pregnant and Parenting Families

Home visiting programs improve outcomes for pregnant people, new parents and caregivers, babies, and families by providing support and guidance throughout pregnancy and early childhood. Home visiting programs connect eligible individuals with home visitors who are specially trained nurses, community health workers, or family support professionals. Home visitors provide education, connections to resources and other ongoing support throughout pregnancy and early childhood. Services are voluntary and free to families. Home visits are provided in the family’s home or another location of the family’s choice.
