Clinical Education Initiative
The Clinical Education Initiative (CEI) is designed to enhance the capacity of New York's diverse health care workforce to deliver clinical services to improve health outcomes related to HIV, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and hepatitis C (HCV). A network of CEI Statewide Centers of Excellence provide progressive, up to date clinical information and practice guidelines for propviders.
The aims of the CEI are:
- provide progressive HIV, HCV and STD education to clinicians
- disseminate AIDS Institute clinical practice guidelines
- expand the base of providers able to diagnose and care for HIV, HCV and STD patients
- foster partnerships between community-based providers and HIV, HCV and STD specialists
Specific areas of expertise include:
- HIV
- Hepatitis C
- Sexually Transmitted Diseases
CEI offers services that include:
- Live webinars and in-person trainings with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits
- Conferences, Preceptorships, Group Clinical Consultation and Tele-mentoring
- Progressive Online Continuing Professional Education

Training for Oral Health Providers
Northeast/Caribbean AETC Oral Health Resource Center
A statewide network of faculty providing progressive, up to date oral health information and practice guidelines.
OHRRC offers services that include:
- On-site trainings and workshops with educational credits
- Technical assistance for implementing HIV testing in the dental chair
