New York State High Fidelity Wraparound Certification and Recertification

Certification is required for Care Managers and their supervisors planning to practice High Fidelity Wraparound. Certification is a 12-month process which includes:

Six Training Modules: Care managers and supervisors participate in both in-person and virtual modules offered during the first six months of the certification year. Competence with each module must be demonstrated prior to participating in the next module.

Supervisory Training: Supervisors will participate in two additional modules focused on advanced practice and offered in months 8-10 of the certification year. Competence must be demonstrated each module prior to participating in the next module.

Monthly Coaching: Care managers and supervisors participate in a monthly coaching call with a NYS project team member. Supervisors are trained to facilitate coaching of their care manager(s) beginning in month seven of the certification year.

Observations of Child & Family Team Meeting Facilitation: A score of 80% or higher must be achieved on the NYS Child & Family Team Meeting Observation Tool completed by NYS project team member. Observation of a Child and Family Team Meeting will occur in months 10-12 of the certification year.

Observation of Supervisory Coaching: A score of 80% or higher must be achieved on the NYS Coaching Observation Tool completed by NYS project team members observing in months 10-12 of the certification year.

Final Presentation: Care managers and their supervisors submit a final presentation to the NYS project team in month 12 of the certification year. The presentation demonstrates competence in and understanding of NYS High Fidelity Wraparound.

Webinar Participation: Care managers and supervisors participate in three (3) webinars within the certification year. Webinars are offered quarterly and present topics to enhance skills related to High Fidelity Wraparound facilitation.

Peer-to-Peer Learning: Care managers and supervisors participate in two (2) peer-to-peer learning calls within the certification year. Calls are offered on a quarterly basis and provide opportunities to share best practices and brainstorm strategies for facilitating NYS High Fidelity Wraparound.

Recertification
In order to ensure continued fidelity to the NYS High Fidelity Wraparound model, care managers and coaching supervisors will need to demonstrate sustained use of practice skills. A six month recertification process must be completed every 24 months, beginning 18 months after initial certification.
