- Expand the role of public and private employers in obesity prevention
- Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke
- Promote culturally relevant chronic disease self-management education
Interventions:
- Promoting of policies and practices in support of breastfeeding
- Increasing the availability, accessibility and use of evidence-based interventions in self-care management in clinical and community settings
- Promote use of Farmers' markets; hospital become "baby-friendly" for breastfeeding
- Support "The Good Life Program" and "Eat Smart NY program"
- Implement "I'm moving, I'm Learning" and/or the CATCH curriculum in classrooms
- Develop list of free resources available to support worksite wellness efforts
- Reduce sodium content in all meals at N-W Community Hospital
- Expand Chronic Disease Self-Management Program "Living Healthy"
