- Harm Reduction Promotion
- Harm reduction saves lives! Overdose prevention education and rescue kits are available for free in your community. Find a community overdose program near you: https://providerdirectory.aidsinstituteny.org/
- Make a plan, never use alone. Based on recent data from our drug overdose reporting system, over 60% of drug overdoses happen in the home. Never Use Alone is a free 24/7 hotline that connects anyone who uses drugs to stay safe.
Hotline # 1-877-696-1996 - BUPE-AP covers buprenorphine treatment costs for people who don't have any or enough insurance. Buprenorphine (also known as Suboxone) is used to help you manage your opioid use (heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioids) and prevents you from having an opioid overdose. To learn more, call 800-542-2437 or visit https://www.health.ny.gov/diseases/aids/consumers/prevention/oduh/buprenorphine_assistance.htm
- I rely on my fentanyl test strips to stay safe. Order free harm reduction supplies at mattersnetwork.org/supplies
- My friend uses drugs. So I carry naloxone just in case. Find a community overdose program near you
