Tuberculosis Information for Healthcare Providers
In New York State, healthcare providers should report both suspected and confirmed cases of tuberculosis disease to the local health department where the patient resides within 24 hours of diagnosis to prevent the further spread of TB in the community and bring patients into care. Providers can work with the local health department staff who will oversee the case management and directly observed therapy of the TB patient.
