Mpox Vaccination

Protect Yourself – Get the Mpox Vaccine

The JYNNEOS vaccine is a two-dose vaccine series that works to prevent mpox.

The vaccine is covered by public and private insurance, and is available regardless of immigration status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

For best protection, receive two doses of the mpox vaccine at least 28 days apart. The mpox vaccine is fully effective two weeks after the second dose.

If it’s been longer than 28 days since your first dose, make a plan to receive your second dose as soon as you can in order to maximize protection. It’s never too late to get your second dose, and there is no need to re-start the vaccine series if you are delayed in getting your second dose.

If you are exposed to mpox and haven't been vaccinated yet, you can still reduce your risk of infection by getting vaccinated within four (4) days of exposure, and reduce your symptoms if you get the vaccine within 14 days of exposure if you get mpox.
