New York State is required by federal regulation (42 CFR 431.12) to establish two boards that advise the New York State Medicaid program on matters related to Medicaid. The Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) and the Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) will assist the New York State Medicaid program and Children's Health Insurance Program ("Child Health Plus" or CHPlus) in providing access to the highest quality and cost-effective care to Medicaid members and CHPlus members. Committee members will advise and inform policy development in matters related to the Medicaid program and CHPlus.

Completing the application is the first step toward becoming a committee member. Selected applicants will undergo a vetting process as part of the next phase.
