• All New York State Medicaid Members are eligible to receive doula services during pregnancy and up to 12 months after, regardless of the pregnancy outcome.
• Doulas provide physical, emotional, educational, and non-medical support for pregnant and postpartum persons before, during, and after childbirth or end of pregnancy.
• Medicaid Members can receive up to eight perinatal visits before or after the birth and continuous support during labor and birth.

• Medicaid members enrolled in fee-for-service can use this directory to find a Medicaid-enrolled doula services provider.
• Medicaid members enrolled in a Medicaid Managed Care plan can reach out directly to their plan to find a doula.
• The fee-for-sevice directory is updated regularly.

• The standing order allows New Yorkers who are pregnant, birthing, or postpartum to receive doula services and fulfills the requirement for a provider recommendation for services to be covered by Medicaid.

For Medicaid Members:

• If you started to receive doula services with a Medicaid-enrolled doula(s) before April 1, 2025, your doula services will continue to be covered by fee-for-service Medicaid until 12 months after the end of your pregnancy.
• If you start to receive doula service on or after April 1, 2025, your doula needs to participate with your Medicaid Managed Care Plan for your doula services to be covered by Medicaid.

For Doula Services Providers:

• To contract with Medicaid Managed Care plans, interested doulas must first enroll in fee-for-service and then contract with plans directly.
• To learn more about fee-for-service enrollment requirements or to enroll as a New York State Medicaid doula services provider, visit Provider Enrollment & Maintenance and Doula Provider Enrollment and Billing..
• New York State maintains a Medicaid Managed Care Point of Contact list. Visit the Doula Provider Enrollment and Billing Information' webpage for this list.

• Doulas will be added to the Fee-for-Service doula directory once their enrollment is approved.
• Doulas are responsible for ensuring the information in the doula directory is accurate.
• If doulas need to update their responses, please submit a new response.
