Health Home Care Management Agencies Billing of Early Intervention Ongoing Service Coordination for Children Enrolled in Health Home Serving Children Program and Early Intervention

On July 2, 2024, the Department of Health announced that effective July 1, 2024, children who are eligible for Health Home and Early Intervention services may be enrolled in both programs and providers may submit claims for all services delivered, including case management. To allow Health Home Care Management Agencies to complete system and procedural updates necessary for claims submission, the Department is allowing claims with dates of service on or after July 1, 2024 that were not submitted within the 90-day timely filing deadline to be submitted using Delay Reason Code 3.
Claims for Early Interventions On-Going Service Coordination Rate Code 5244 can be filed for dates of service on or after July 1, 2024 with Delay Reason Code 3 until June 30, 2025. Timely filing rules will apply for any claims that are not filed by June 30, 2025.
