Meaningful Use Public Health Reporting Stage 1 (2011-2014)
Meeting the Public Health Reporting Objective
During the EP´s or EH´s EHR Reporting Period, the EP or EH must have:
- Been in ongoing submission of data, OR
- Perform at least one test of the CEHRT´s capacity to submit electronic data to the PHA and follow up submission if the test was successful.

- Available to EPs and EHs outside the five boroughs of NYC only
Syndromic Surveillance Reporting
Syndromic Surveillance Reporting is a menu objective for both EPs and EHs.
Available Registries
- Primary Care Information Project (PCIP)
- Available to EPs inside the five boroughs of NYC only
- NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH)
- Available to EHs inside the five boroughs of NYC only
- NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH)
- Available to EHs outside the five boroughs of NYC only
Electronic Reportable Laboratory Results Reporting
Electronic Reportable Laboratory Results is a menu objective for EHs only.
Available Registries
- Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS)
- Available to EHs and CAHs inside and outside the five boroughs of NYC only
EHR Reporting Period
- MU Stage 1 Year 1: Any continuous 90-day period in the Reporting Timeframe
- MU Stage 1 Year 2: A full year in the Reporting Timeframe
Reporting Timeframes
- Eligible Hospitals: Federal Fiscal Year – 10/1 – 9/30
- Eligible Professionals: Calendar Year
Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) Requirements
At least 2011 Edition CEHRT is required to meet the MU Stage 1 Public Health Reporting Objectives.
