New York State Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
NYS Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
The Department of Health oversees the New York State (NYS) Comprehensive Cancer Control Program(CCCP) which coordinates the Department's efforts to build strong partnerships with state and local cancer organizations, assess the burden of cancer and monitor changes in population-based measures, mobilize support for comprehensive cancer control activities, and effect policy, health systems, and environmental changes to address the cancer burden among New Yorkers.
CCCP is an active member in the NYS Cancer Consortium, a voluntary network of individuals and organizations that collaborate to address the burden of cancer.
The NYS Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan
The NYS Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan compiles evidence-based information and best practices that serve as a guide for community members, policy makers, advocates, health care professionals, and partners to address the burden of cancer in local communities and across NYS. The Plan is developed through a collaborative process led by the NYS Cancer Consortium Steering Committee facilitated by the CCCP. The Plan reflects input from Consortium members including healthcare providers, public health professionals, community organizations, academic partners, and patient advocates.
