  The Council on Children and Families coordinates the State's health, education and human services as a way to provide more organized and effective systems of care for children and families.

  • Division of Child Care Services

    The New York State Office of Children and Family Services provides a range of resources to help parents with their child care needs, assists those who want to start or are currently running child care programs, and answers questions about the health or safety of children in day care programs.

  • County Departments of Social Services

    County Departments of Social Services (DSS) provide the full range of publicly-funded social services and cash assistance programs. Families who qualify may be able to receive a subsidy to help pay their child care costs. If you are interested in learning more about the availability of child care subsidies in your county, please contact your DSS office.

• Parent to Parent of NYS

  Parent to Parent of NYS is a parent-run organization, with nine offices statewide, that brings parents of children with disabilities together with other parents who have children with the same or similar disabilities. Parents can discuss similar problems, successes, share information, and provide each other with support.

  Bright Futures for Families is a national resource that helps families and communities improve the health and well-being of all children.

  This site offers articles and resources that empower parents of children with disabilities and special needs.

• PACER Parent Training and Information Center

  PACER offers many programs for parents, students, professionals and other parent organizations. Their original philosophy of "parents helping parents" remains the foundation upon which PACER has grown.

  • Region A Parent Centers- New York State

    Parent Centers serve families of children of all ages and with all disabilities (physical, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional). Parent Centers provide a variety of services including one-to-one support and assistance, workshops, publications, and websites.

• Resources for Children with Special Needs

  Resources for Children with Special Needs (RCSN) is New York City's only independent nonprofit organization that works for families of children with all special needs, across all boroughs, to understand and find the services that will help their children to develop their full potential.

• National Center for Early Development and Learning

  This site has resources which focus on improving the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children from birth through age eight.

• NYS Education Department Early Childhood Direction Centers

  The Early Childhood Direction Centers (ECDCs) provide information about programs and services for young children, ages birth through five, who have physical, mental, or emotional disabilities and help families obtain services for their children.

  ZERO TO THREE is a national, nonprofit organization that informs, trains, and supports professionals, policymakers, and parents in their efforts to improve the lives of infants and toddlers.
